Stan Bryl, CIO
Mr. Bryl began his well diversified technical career in 1985 at Bell Laboratories as a project manager and lead engineer working on embedded firmware and hardware designs for automated operator workstations. In 1991 he joined Chicago Research and Trading to work on risk management and option trading systems and has remained in the trading industry ever since, holding key technical positions in both proprietary trading shops and global hedge funds. In 2001, Mr. Bryl joined Ritchie Capital Management, a $3 billion hedge fund, eventually becoming the Director of Systems development, where he was responsible for overall management of software architecture, in-house development, database services, prime broker information flow, and automation of back-office reporting. Mr. Bryl has spent time as a CTO consultant to the hedge funds Magnetar Capital and BlueCrest Capital working with senior management on overall technology assessment and independent IT budget review. His experience in the high frequency space came as Director of Systems Development at Jump Trading, where he grew the IT team, providing a global electronic trading software infrastructure and colocation footprint. He is a licensed youth soccer coach through U-14, volunteering for TriCity Soccer Association and coaches youth basketball as a volunteer through the Batavia Basketball Foundation. Mr. Bryl has a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois, a M.S.E.E from Purdue University, as well as a MBA, with Distinction, from DePaul University.
